Assignment for graphic design class. Design a calendar based around a holiday. The calendar has to be functional and illustrate the holiday in which you are basing your design off of.
I would love to see who gets it. Send me some notes or something before you read under the cut.

I designed this calendar based off of Dia De Los Muertos. Originally I was going to mirror the skull design so that there was a full skull, but we could only use elements once. So November, 2014, days of the week, and numbers, could only appear once. There were occasional exceptions, but those were rare and they served a purpose. I chose to keep the calendar portion of it undistorted for readability, but I positioned it so that it suggests a spine and rib cage.

Portraits done while at work, about 15 minutes each.

Attempted superhero that I drew the other night, turned into Agent Simmons of Agents of SHIELD. A superhero in her own right.

OC Paariza Naderi. Wife, mother, keeper of secrets, and tamer of birds.

I need to pay attention when I post from my phone. I posted on the wrong blog. :(

40 minute sketch. So out of practice. Shouldn’t have taken me this long to get this far.

Working in the studio today. Almost finished with this one. Just needs some final detailing after this round of paint dries.

Ugh, trying to organize multiple photos is a pain in the ass. Either way…

Assignment for school. Doing page layout in photoshop before we code them up in Dreamweaver. I’m pretty happy with this design. As we were using content from the NASA website and summarizing the information that we found, I wanted to take the Near Earth Object program, which searches for asteroids and comets that will eventually pass within a certain distance of the earth (or impact), and create a site that was geared towards middle school students as a starting point for some sort of research project.

I feel that the NASA webpage is rather intimidating and overwhelming to a kid who wouldn’t know where to start. I hope that this site is easy to navigate, and provides just enough information to give a solid idea about what the NEO Program does, before jumping into the NASA website, or each individual survey site.

I would watermark all of this stuff, but anyone who knows how to use photoshop or code will be able to recreate this anyways, but don’t be a jerk and take my designs, kay?

Powers of Ten Using only your photographs, create a series of three (3) photographs that are approximately 10 times greater/lesser in contextual progression with each other. Your progression should communicate an idea grounded in our contemporary culture. You cannot manipulate the photograph (i.e. through Photoshop).

My first project for my communication design class. Explanation is word for word the prompt we were given. There was more explanation for formatting the images for printing. This was also my second shoot for the project, as the first set I took was not as good as this one.

Took the photos with my phone, cause I don’t have a proper camera. Blod is oil paint thinned with mineral spirits (alizarin crimson with a hint of french ultramarine). My classmates are the models. They are awesome for helping me out with this.
